Obedience Training For Your Dog

Da Wikimperivm.

The purpose of obedience training is to condition your dog to behave in a manner that is consistent with your lifestyle and desired household environment. No dog will be perfect upon adoption, and unfortunately, they don't come with an instruction manual! But proper training, patience, and love will ensure you and your dog pulling training live happily together.

If the why does my dog bark at other dogs won't crate or leash willingly and you're out of time, you will need to corner him. In a small area, this is easily accomplished; just be sure to maintain NON-THREATENING body language the entire time. For example: don't look directly at him, approach sideways, move slowly and calmly. Don't reach over his head, other than to gently drape a blanket or towel over it...if he can't see you, it can have a calming effect, and the towel also makes it much harder for him to deliver a fear bite. It is very important to read up on, and fully understand, canine body language and calming signals before ever attempting to corner a fearful dog (or any dog, really).

Step number one. Rule out pain or health problem. You can do this by taking a closer look at your dog. Examine his body for any abrasion or splinter. Check his vital signs. See if he is not limping when he's walking. Do you know that thyroid problem as well as diabetes has similar symptoms with dog depression? If he's not suffering from any of these, he might be really suffering from depression.

It is also imperative that you be consistent and persistent in your dog obedience training. Most of the time your dog will not change their behavior in a single day. If you stay consistent the way you are training them and be sure not to give up, your dog will learn what you are teaching them, it can just take time. It is important not to give up on them if they haven't made any progress after just one day. If you keep your eye on the prize and work with them, all of your hard work will pay off.

It's important to remember that the dogs are in a stressful situation, so don't assume that a dog's initial shyness means it won't come around to you in time. On the other hand, pay close attention to signs that the dog may have some deeply rooted emotional problems, like aggression, fear, or anxiety. Try to find a dog that seems even-tempered and balanced. Avoid one that is extremely shy or introverted or that is highly reactive or startles easily.

Tip: Simply ordering animals to do what we want doesn't suffice - they have free will. It's about being in relationship. It's about learning what motivates reactive dogs each animal.

This "domination ritual" will solidify you as your dog's pack leader and let your dog know that you're the boss. That way, instead of jumping up on you or other people, your dog will know "No" when it hears the word.

For example, if you are changing puppy over from dry food to wet food, swap one spoonful on day one, two spoonfuls on day two and so on till they are completely swapped over to their new diet. I know it is a painfully slow process - but it's so much better for puppy. Besides, puppy diarrhoea is no fun at all - you really do not want to go down that road!

Your voice plays a very important role in your dog obedience training. Your voice will be the most indispensable tool in training. That is why you need to be very firm of your voice. Having said that, you need to let your dog feel that you care and show some compassion with your voice. Do not be aggressive in any way or else your dog might be challenged.

Dog obedience training could be easy when you will follow these easy yet effective ways. But then again, this is not an activity that your dog is the only player because this should be you and your dog. It takes love, respect and passion for you to be successful in this dog obedience training.
